Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a powerful tool for identifying and resolving the cooling problems in data centers and for optimizing their cooling performance. This presentation will introduce the CFD technique and demonstrate how CFD can be used to calculate air velocity, airflow rate, pressure, and temperature distribution in data centers. The effect of various parameters on the airflow, pressure, and temperature in the data center will be discussed. A case study will be shown, through which common cooling problems in data centers will be presented and the solutions to these problems will be discussed.
